Where the Drop C# tuning comes from

Drop C# is Drop D lowered by a semitone, and it has the same practical origin as E♭ tuning: many players who used Drop D also tuned the whole guitar down a half step. It became common in the alternative metal and nu metal of the 1990s and 2000s. No single artist is credited with it.
